The OSHA 10 & 30 hour courses cover General Industry occupational health and safety information (OSHA 29 CFR 1910) as it relates to cleaning, maintenance, grounds and restoration industry workers. The course promotes the importance of hazard and risk assessment, The Global Harmonized System (GHS), administrative controls, work practices, and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and the implementation of controls to prevent accidents, injuries and toxic exposures that can impact worker health, wellness and performance.
The OSHA Hierarchy of Hazard Control is emphasized as a way to reduce reliance on the use of PPE and instead focus safety efforts on the reduction and or elimination of hazards through more effective means. To successfully complete the course each attendee must demonstrate that they possess the skill, knowledge and awareness to recognize potential hazards and are committed to taking action to prevent accidents and exposures on the job that will save lives and reduce costs by preventing injuries. |
