This training is offered based on the needs of each facility and offered as an in-person hands-on two-day workshop.
This course utilizes the "Comprehensive Custodial Training Manual" (CCTM) as the course curriculum. Each student is provided with a copy of this four-chapter manual or one or more chapters, depending on the length or subject matter focus of the instruction. There are four major chapters to the full course, the sections are offered as a standalone training program for each chapter or as a combined program over a 14 hour course of instruction.
Basic Outline
- Chapter 1 provides an introduction to professionalism, goals, values, and objectives, office and restroom cleaning, window washing, care of tools, supplies, and motion economy, chemical, equipment and supplies
- Chapter 2 covers all types of hard floor care, including resilient, stone and clay tiles, plus wood floors. Hard floor care including stripping, scrubbing, burnishing, polishing and refinishing.
- Chapter 3 covers all aspects of rug and carpet care. The last section covers special area cleaning including cleaning metal, draperies, elevators, kitchens and hotels.
- Chapter 4 covers the tasks and responsibilities for 30 different types of cleaning required for Special Areas.
